I absolutely live in the target country
Being in the source country for a while is interesting to learn the source languages, but it depends on the linguistic and especially cultural distence between target and source languages.
I would certainly advice is to people translating, e.g., Japanese to English, but for English and Dutch the distance is really small.
I do, however, live in a bilingual country, which gives me more opportunities to learn about the French source language... See more I absolutely live in the target country
