Keep fixing my posture everytime I remember but I am too lazy to stay upright | | | Teresa Borges Portugalija Local time: 07:58 Narys (2007) iš anglų į portugalų + ...
If there’s one thing that was constantly screamed at me when I was a young girl, it was to sit up straight. It didn’t matter where it was, you just had to sit upright and avoid slouching. There’s no one now standing behind me to remind to stop slouching but that good habit has stayed with me. That being said, this is what I do:

That being said, this is what I do:
1. I sit well back in my fully adjustable leather office chair with a tall back and arm rests,
2. For lumbar support I bought a small special cushion (Orthia),
3. I have adjusted the seat height so that my feet are flat on the floor and my knees are equal to, or slightly lower, than my hips,
4. My screen is at eye level,
5. I have all objects I need within easy reach
6. I take 2-3 minutes breaks (almost) every hour to stretch and walk…
I must be doing something right as I do not suffer from any of the common ailments generally attributed to sitting long hours at the computer, except for poor circulation in my legs, specially in the warm weather like now, but this is probably more of an age thing… ▲ Collapse | | | Hiten Parekh Indija Local time: 13:28 Narys (2016) iš anglų į gudžarati + ... Sure I might forget it in an hour... So yes, I do find it difficult to keep good posture while working . | | | It Depends-80/20 | Sep 5, 2019 |
I do most of my translation work while sitting in comfy leather armchairs at libraries or coffee houses, at which time I almost always lean down towards the left. So, inevitably, I'm almost never sitting up straight.
The only time I seem to sit up straight while working is when I'm at my desktop at home, doing a personal project for my professional edification.
The paid work actually stresses me out less if my posture is very relaxed.

Split keyboards and keyboards with other variations have been around for years and are certainly available. | |

Now I mostly work as an interpreter (not translator), yet for rather long sessions I was used to turning the chair with its back forward and leaning on it while typing via an anti-RSI (A-type/pyramid) keyboard, having regular short exercises and tea/coffee breaks. | | | Mario Freitas Brazilija Local time: 04:58 Narys (2014) iš anglų į portugalų + ...
I try to remember it but I always catch myself in terrible positions.
