Consider the origin of the word "industry" and usages such as "service industry". Translation *is* an industry, it *is* a business, it's not exclusively a profession or an art. | |

Consider the origin of the word "industry" and usages such as "service industry". Translation *is* an industry, it *is* a business, it's not exclusively a profession or an art. It really doesn't. In addition to the explanation above, it is also, perhaps more commonly, used to describe a sector of the market not an industry with the meaning of a factory or plant. If you think of the word "industrious", you'll catch the real meaning of the word.
