E-mails are the sole evidence we have of all negotiations and jobs for clients. We must keep a very well-organized file of all such important documents, and they have been very useful to me many times, including lawsuits and complaints where the e-mails were the only evidencing documents I had.
Therefore, I keep folders of them all in my PC. There is no feasible way to do this in a phone or tablet.

It will take time, but people will realize that phones and tablets are NOT working devices. They are for mobile use only, as long as you backup all your emails and documents in you PC and in cloud storage when you arrive at home. If you don't do that, you'll learn it the hard way. ▲ Collapse

Several years ago I decided to use Gmail instead of my personal domain for email correspondence purposes. Sure, I have lost the exclusivity of my own domain, but the advantage of Gmail is that all my email is centralised on Google's server, NOT on my device. Therefore, all you do by reading an email from a mobile device is mark it as read, with the email itself remaining on the server. The advantage of using a PC, of course, is having a proper keyboard to professionally respond to customer requests, and a decent organisational structure for your emails through folders and filtering rules.
So, it makes no difference where you READ your emails due to them being stored on a central server, but responding to these emails should ideally be done via a professional work computer.
If you do run your own domain, make sure to use a service such as IMAP so that emails remain centralised on the server, and are NOT downloaded to each device that may access them. ▲ Collapse

I have two notebooks, two netbooks, and an ultrabook for separate projects, and one more 'backup' notebook for non-business tasks. While I have three modern smartphones, yet only two are for biz (one SIM is since 2003!); and I don't use any of my three tablets for translation at all--even with external keyboards and monitors.
Now I work with local direct clients, so I check email or two-three times a day--or after I get a call or an SMS

Have you considered using Gsuite? It allows you to use a personal domain with Gmail. I have been using it for a couple of years now and I couldn't be happier.

So I voted "my (work) computer". If i had one of the other devices, I'd probably used it on occasion.
