Welcome to my profile page!
I am Marius Reika, independent English to Lithuanian technical translator. I have been freelancing in the translation industry since 2005 on and off, and have a BA in English language and translation (Vilnius University).

Besides translation, I provide services of software and website localisation, as well as of editing and proofreading.

My work philosophy
I accept only those projects that are within my expertise and whose deadlines I am able to meet, and I translate only into my mother tongue.
I ask questions. This is to ensure the best quality possible and eliminate any doubts, that I might have regarding some terms or phrases in the text.
If I am unsure of anything, I will let you know about it. You will not receive any unwanted surprises from me.  If you have any questions during or after the project, I will do my best to help you and provide a solution.

During the circumnavigation of the planet without flying and without any sponsors, which lasted over 15 years from 2009 to 2024, and spanned over continents of Europe, Africa, Latin America, Oceania and Asia, as well as Atlantic and Pacific and Indian oceans, I learned many skills and gained practical mechanical knowledge by having to repair and maintain different kinds of vehicles (motorbikes, cars, vans, bicycles and sailing boats) and by having to work in many different areas to sustain my journey.

In addition to mechanical knowledge, I gained experience in sailing vessels navigation and maintenance, learned of immigration procedures in dozens of different countries, hands on skills in carpentry and construction and most importantly a deeper understanding of our planet and people. 

All these different experiences helped me to shape a work method which is always focused on quality rather than speed.
