A native Spanish speaker, I was born in Colombia and emigrated to the US as a teenager. Immersion quickly helped me become proficient in English. I never would have believed that it would lead to a career in interpreting!

Prior to full-time interpreting, I worked as an EMT and as a Licensed Nursing Assistant/Emergency Room Technician. It was in the ER that I began interpreting, helping physicians and nurses communicate with Spanish-speaking patients.

Over 25 years into my interpreting career, I have had the opportunity to work extensively in several areas. I interpret in both the consecutive and simultaneous modes and perform sight translation if needed. My primary areas of focus are...
