English term

Vocal Congruence

English to Japanese Medical Psychology Psychoanalysis
...found a powerful phenomenon, which they termed vocal congruence, in which adult partners match paused between vocalizations and match cycles of vocalizations and pauses.

Seems like a fixed term in psychoanalytic study.
Would be very helpful in anyone knows how it is called in Japanese psychoanalysits.
Many thanks in advance

Thank you Graham. Indeed, the book I am working mentions Jaffe and Feldstein in this section.

音声調和

I think this was a term coined by Beebe B, Alson D, Jaffe J, Feldstein S, Crown C (1988), and not really a set term. There are only 17 hits on google. My guess is that a literal translation is fine.

Also, if you can find:
梶川祥世 (2003) 母子間音声コミュニケーションの発達:会話のリズム.パフォーマンス教育協会 第21回コンベンション.

You will probably get an answer, or you could ask 梶川さん

agree Kazuo SAWADA : I think this is the right translation.

agree Kurt Hammond : Although not found much on the Internet, this is indeed a fixed term used whenever discussing this type of speech psychology.
