I'm struggling with the structure as well.
Das Modellieren und das daraus entstehende *Liniengefuege* am Bildschirm wird bei einer gewissen Komplexitaet der Szenerie ein *Gefuege*, das durchaus mit dem *Liniengefuege der Zeichnungen von uns zu vergleichen ist. Im Detail ist es ja so, dass das Gestruepp manchmal fast undurchdringlich erscheint und sich erst im Ganzen als Teil eines gezeichneten Objektes oder Raumes erweist.
Modelling and the line structure emerging from it on the screen becomes a structure in a certain complexity of the scenery, which is absolutely comparable to the line structure in our drawings. In the detail it is in fact such that the mesh of lines sometimes appears nearly impenetrable and at first proves in the whole as part of a drawn object or space.

Just a thought - I'm not sure if it is appropriate to your context.
I'm not sure you've brought out the significance of "...bei einer gewissen Komplexität", which I take as being "when a particular degree of complexity is reached ... then X happens" (I'm paraphrasing, not offering a translation!).
