Discussion

Jaime Hyland May 20, 2011:
Looks good to me! My alternative was just to avoid repetition of the word "file".

Doesn't matter.
David Williams (asker) May 20, 2011:
Excellent thanks!

So:

In the Telnet window, open the file “/etc/inittab” with “vi” vi /etc/inittab and make sure that it contains a call to the file you have just uploaded. It may be necessary to modify the call so that it matches the file name of the file you have just uploaded.

or

In the Telnet window, open the file “/etc/inittab” with “vi” vi /etc/inittab and make sure that it contains a call to the file you have just uploaded. It may be necessary to modify the call command so that it matches the file name of the file you have just uploaded.

Jaime Hyland May 20, 2011:
"...it contains a call to the file... " rather than " ...a call for the file ..."
Jaime Hyland May 20, 2011:
correctly maps to the file you have just uploaded The text is referring to a file path. It has to be correct. I think that's all they're saying
Colin Rowe May 20, 2011:
Matches or corresponds to?
David Williams (asker) May 20, 2011:
Thanks! But, to be honest, I'm still a little stuck. How does this sound?

In the Telnet window, open the file “/etc/inittab” with “vi” vi /etc/inittab and make sure that it contains a call for the file you have just uploaded. It may be necessary to modify the call command so that it *** the file name of the file you have just uploaded.

I'm toying with "fits" or "suits" for ***, but am not convinced by either.
David Williams (asker) May 20, 2011:
Further context "Gegebenenfalls müssen sie den Aufruf so anpassen, dass er zum Namen der hochgeladenen Datei passt."
