German term

"softe" Zwischenlösung

German to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general)
This is from a letter from a dealer to the manufacturer complaining about a defect in a forklift truck.

"Schwerere Lenkung bei steigender Geschwindigkeit analog Pkw-Technik (die Reologik ist vorhanden)oder "softe" Zwischenlösung aus beiden Vorschlägen"

I'm not sure what "softe" means. It must be some sort of compromise, but could somebody confirm this (or put me right?) Thanks very much

compromise solution

It looks to me as though this is an English word being used with a German adjectival ending - something I'm noticing more and more these days! I think you are right to assume it means some kind of compromise. "Soft", because you are avoiding coming down hard on one side or the other, I suppose.

soft/easy interim solution

I think they have just taken over the English word "soft" here.

a temporary solution

interim solution is fine. For "soft" in this case, he means some temporary solution to make the truck functional for the time being as against a 'permanent solution'
