More catering equipment stuff. Here, a no-frost refrigerator is being referred to. I can't find a translation for "Aufnahmeschiene" anywhere. Any ideas what this thing might be called in English? TIA for your help.

Discussion

Trudy Peters Aug 11, 2005:
I'd call it a frost-free refrigerator.
Non-ProZ.com Aug 11, 2005:
Slide rails? I just found a couple of promising hits for "slide rails to receive baking trays". You mention "something with slide-in", Johanna, so do you think "Aufnahmeschienen" could legitimately be translated as "slide rails"?
Johanna Timm, PhD Aug 11, 2005:
I just looked into my own fridge for inspiration...the word that came to mind was "groove" or something with "slide-in". Sadly, though, the only reference for groove & fridges related to a Kiddie kitchen set:) www.epinions.com/content_60756758148
Non-ProZ.com Aug 11, 2005:
Retainer rails? This seems to get a few good search engine hits, though nothing really in a food counter sort of context. "Receiver rails" actually gets a lot more hits, but most of these seem to be in a shotgun context (it seems guns have "receiver rails"). Would you use retainer rails for holding baking trays?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I think I'll just call them tracks then. Many thanks Turdy and Johanna, but thanks also to the others who offered an idea. All suggestions were very plausible and reasonable. Appreciate everyone's help."

receptor rails

Being as it is taking up baking trays. The term itself gets around 50K Googles for all manner of gubbins, the first pages being allied to the principle of `taking up or bearing loads".
