Found within a list of departments which constituted the so-called independent Jewish administration at Theresienstadt, in a survivor's diary written in the late 40s:
...Abt. fuer Innere Verwaltung: Rechtsabteilung, Raumwirtschaft, Gebaeudeleitung, Matrik und Beerdiguingswesen, Post und Verkehr, Transportleitung;...
It is not an abbreviation of Matrikel, as a) children's education was not allowed, b) their activities are documented elsewhere.
I did find a mention of a Matrik in connection with Neugeborene via Google, in part of an abstract of a paper of the Institut Theresienstadt Intiative, but could not access the body of the article.
Google translate says that Matrik is a Registry Office in Czech, which would fit the context - could I translate this as Registry of Births and Deaths?

"synagogue records" (not specifically Christian "parish" or "church") may be an important addition if the term is meant more broadly.
Probably ought to be listed as "... synagogue records, registry of deaths, ..." unless the grouping or number of groups is important to the text.

Have looked up online in Theresienstadt 1941-1945: das Antlitz einer Zwangsgemeinschaft By H. G. Adler, it seems that this Matrik carried out the functions of a Rabbinate in its absence, so more than just registry, also some ritual, and am wondering whether it is possible to get that across in translation. ???
