German term

synchronistische Weltgeschichte

German to English Other History
X, Historiker an der Universität X, hat in seinem Buch eine synchronistische Weltgeschichte geliefert, in die erstmals auch chinesische Quellen aufgenommen sind.

Does "synchronistisch" mean the same as "chronological"? TIA

synchronic world history

No, it's "synchronic":
"Synchronic history is the study of cross-cultural comparisons at approximately the same time. For example, one could study the development of the Iron Age (c. 1500 bc) in various parts of the world, or compare the civilizations of China and Europe during the Age of Exploration (c. l500 ad)."

no

it means synchronous (coinciding in time), or possibly synchronistic. It's an account of the history of two or more countries/regions at the same time.
Peer comment(s):

agree Anja Eichelberg : I would though prefer "synchronistic" to "synchronous" or the above mentioned "synchronic" - in my view, the latter refer to the things or events coinciding in time, whereas "synchronistic" characterizes the (scientific) compilations of such things.
