I'm not really happy about "kann teilweise abhängig von seiner Ausstattung (Optionen)" either. Does that essentially mean "can have the following features, depending partly on its equipment level (options)"?

: In dieser Lösung wurde dem Gewebe osmotisch Wasser entzogen, wodurch die Bildung von Gefrierartefakten in Form einer Kristallbildung im Gewebe beim Auffrieren auf dem Kryostaten verringert wurde.

In einem anderen Zusammenhang stimme ich aber ueberein, dass auffrieren synonym fuer auftauen ist.
