Japanese term
捨印
Japanese to English
Bus/Financial
Finance (general)
Contract document
This is a place for putting a seal impression outside the main area of the contract document. Reading Japanese definitions, which mention somebody acting on behalf of the main parties to a contract, I've come up with "proxy seal" but I wondered if anybody had any better suggestions. Any help much appreciated.

That's what you can get out of Japanese-English dictionaries.

Try the site below, which is shown in Japanese, though. It's a financial glossary, and illustrates the word in brief.
I suggest you to try 捨て印, rather than 捨印, or just "marginal seal," which hopefully will lead you to a solution.

Also see: http://trans.glova.jp/index.php
which gives you 捨て印=marginal seal.

Note from asker:
Thanks for your comment. I'm only using online dictionaries at the moment (Alc and Jim Breen) as I'm currently in transit. Neither of the above has 捨印. Could you specify which dictionary you referred to? Thanks. |
