Kozakiewicz\'s gesture
The gesture above is known in Poland as Kozakiewicz\'s gesture (gest Kozakiewicza), after Polish pole vault jumper Władysław Kozakiewicz, who after winning the gold medal and beating the world record during the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow had shown this gesture to the Russian public at the stadium. The crowd supported Soviet jumper Volkov (who came second) and was booing and whistling during Kozakiewicz\'s performance. Angered Kozakiewicz, after securing the gold medal, showed said gesture to the stadium. He later beat the then world record by clearing 578 cm. The meaning of this gesture is slightly different from the one it has in Italy. Its meaning can be translated as Fuck off, I am the boss.

HTH

Albo tłumaczyć dosłownie i w nawiasie, że znaczenie podobne do \"give sb the finger\".

MrMarDar: \"Forearm jerk\" would do, wouldn\'t it? Wonder if it\'s widely used and understood... But if there is a \"picture\" as well it should be clear :)

A dosłowne tłumaczenie z wyjaśnieniem w nawiasie też zaproponowałam.

made a very vulgar gesture with his arm
1.Jeżeli Kozakiewicza, to "made a very vulgar gesture with his arm" (jak pisze Rita Heller), ewentualnie uzupełnione przez "later(to be) known as K's gesture".
2. Jeżeli nie Kozakiewicza, to "made a very vulgar gesture with his arm", bez żadnego wspominania o samym Kozakiewiczu - marna szansa, że ktoś ze zwykłych ludzi jeszcze go za granicą pamięta.
I pamiętaj - kontekst rules.
