Polish term

john narazil sie Pawlowi

Polish to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
czy jest cos lepszego niz "offended". Nie wiem dokladnie co "narazic" sie oznacza. Wolalabym cos formalnego a nie np. "to step on someone's toes."

Thanks!

nie jestem pewna, czy zupelnie potoczne. Mozna narazic sie nuncjuszowi papieskiemu? W np. opisie historycznym wydarzen..

"narazi si komu" to wyraenie potoczne, a nie formalne :)

John fell/ran afoul of Pawel

That's the best formal solution I can think of. You might consider: John got into Pawel's bad books, or John fell out of favor with Pawel.
