Motivele ornamentale sunt geometrice, iar mâneca are cusături peste cot, iar fodorii peste creţuri. În ornamentaţie, culorile folosite sunt roşu şi negru. Peste cămaşă se îmbracă un pieptar înfundat, încheiat într-o parte, scurt până în dreptul taliei şi foarte mult răscroit în jurul gâtului, cu cusături mărunte pe partea din faţă. Mijlocul corpului este încins cu beţe înguste. Poalele albe, lucrate din pânză de bumbac, sunt simple, doar la marginea de jos au uneori colţii festonaţi şi mai rar o mică bandă de cusături albe.

Over the "briu" are worn "bete", or narrow belts wound three times around and adorned with brass or tin studs. They are found in Moldavia, and also in southern Transylvania.
