Japanese term
尻出し
Japanese to English
Tech/Engineering
Manufacturing
Printing
This is the unwind direction of a printed roll. It means that the leading edge would be the right hand end of the text, as can be seen here:

I can think of a few ways of describing this, and there are lots of 'unwind direction' charts around which illustrate it, but I can't pin down the correct term - if it exists.

Hi Steven,
If it appears as spec of a printed tape, then "feeding direction: forward (頭出し) or reverse (尻出し) might do. Adding a brief explanation is even better.
I came up with this from "reverse play" (逆再生). The way how the text appears during the 尻出し (last letter first) is the same as reverse play is run.
If the document is about a tape printer, then I'm pretty sure it means to reverse the print 180 degrees, or invert the text/image rather than changing the winding direction.
