Source text - Polish - Jeden z żyjących gatunków jest rasą świadomą, posiadającą rozum i potrafiącą budować. Początkowo używali jedynie kamiennych noży, dziś doszli już do etapu przetwarzania polimerów! Potrafią opuszczać swoją planetę, ale jak dotychczas na niewielkie odległości.
- Na co działają?
- Nazwałem to odżywianiem. Spożywają inne gatunki, a w ich organizmach w umieszczonych tam mini przetwórniach chemicznych następuje przetwarzanie pochłoniętego materiału na składniki budulcowe. Poza tym spalają tlen. Początkowo eksperymentowałem z azotem, ale ostatecznie tylko kilka gatunków prymitywnych stworzeń wykorzystuje tą metodę.
- Masz może odpowiednie wykresy i tabele?
- Tak, tu jest wszystko...
- No, no... Sam tego wszystkiego nie zrobiłeś?
- Pomagali mi rodzice. Szczególnie przy tych związkach pokarmowych przydała się wiedza mamy. W końcu jest egzobiologiem.
- O, widzę, że są dwupłciowi, jak my.

- Nie było to takie trudne... Potrafię zwalniać i przyspieszać czas w ich świecie, tak, że ich płynie równolegle do naszego, wtedy słucham, o czym myślą...
- Poczekaj, niech nadążę. Napisałeś, że ich myśli to fale mózgowe. Przecież nawet dla nas nie mogą być one dostrzegalne.
- Mogą, jeśli zamontuje się im odpowiedni przekaźnik energetyczny. Składa się z trzech części: nad-, pod- i świadomości. Wszystkie one współdziałają ze sobą. Z ich mózgów informacje przekazywane są do świadomości, która je dekoduje i przesyła do nadświadomości, która wzmacnia sygnał i przekazuje go mnie, z kolei ja odpowiadam, przekazując dane do podświadomości, która osłabia sygnał i importuje go do świadomości, skąd trafia do ich mózgów.

They all interact with each other. From these creatures’ brains, information is being transferred to consciousness, where it is decoded and sent to superconsciousness, which amplifies the signal and passes it on to me. Then I answer, transferring data to subconsciousness, which attenuates the signal and imports it to the consciousness, from which it is being transferred back to their brains.
