Very helpful advice! Jul 5, 2010

The tips on dealing with tough terms are really good. Leaving tough terms till the end may help to reveal their true meaning and save a lot of time. The idea is simple but not obvious, especially for newbies. Thanks!!!!

We get texts, especially long and too nitty-gritty ones, which arent really clear, or even make any sense to us, before we reach its second half.
Let's remember that a word or expresion especially difficult to translate is not necessarily one we do not know at all. We may meet even well-known, everyday usage words which prove knotty to translate. And there are texts full of extremely dificult lexical items. Fortunately, most of them are not.

Well, your article is great in helping us about how to do a good translation while saving energy and improving effectiveness. I , myself, often use the same way. For some difficulty words or some words you are not familiar with, your method is practical.
