Get up at 5:45, start working at 6.
Usually for revisions, since at that time everybody is still sleeping so I can enjoy the silence and my concentration it top-level.

sounds totally insane to me... I am up at 6 am, but don't start working until 9 am. I try to work out most mornings, have breakfast, coffee, check my emails etc., before I start working. I do start earlier on rare occasions (if I fall behind on an assignment and have to catch up), but try not to make a habit of doing so.

Get up early to check my email box and work for 1 hour. First hour is to read out a project or my translation. I enjoy darkness and silence before dawn..

I get up at 5am because all of my customers are in Europe and I'm 8 hours behind here in Costa Rica. I start immediately, but I take a short break at 6 for a shower and breakfast:-)

Usually I'm up between 4:45 and 5:00 a.m.. But the start of the day greatly depends on the time I went to bed the night before, which again depends on which client I'm working for at the time. But I've done it more than once to get up around 5 a.m. even though "bedtime" wasn't until nearly 3 a.m.

I've always thought that being a freelancer meant that I don't have to follow any particular sleep/work schedule. If I wanted to be up at the same time everyday, I'd probably find a regular job and give up being self-employed.
The only time I worry about and comply strictly with is project delivery time; everything else is variable.

... 6 but I've taken things easier lately (usually between 8 and 9 AM). I still finish around 18.00 (6PM) though and still work at least half days on weekends.

Me too. I'm "usually" up and about between 8 and 9.30, but it really depends on so many factors that it's hard to pin down. As I have no children/school runs etc to worry about, I can be as flexible as possible, within limits.

In between, I head off to my local swimming pool, where I swim at least a mile every day. I have always been an early riser and morning person.

I finished and delivered a 96-page rush publication-quality job at 8:30 a.m. this morning. Took my dogs out, gave them breakfast and had a bite myself, then hit the sack for 4 hours. It's 1:30 p.m. and I'm ready to start my day.

But use to work late. It would be nice if the day would have few more hours that I would use for sleeping

Thank god I have a dog that needs to go out and makes noise when hungry, otherwise I would probably forget to eat myself and would not even know how is the weather outside.
