No preference whatsoever, the moment I start working depends on a lot of factors: quality of my sleep the night before, job deadline, complexity of the document, familiarity with the subject matter. I do work occasionally late at night (11 or 12 pm) when a translation is flowing well and then I'll get up early in the morning to revise. With age I find that sometimes my brain gets fogged, even when I'm willing to put the time in. One thing is certain: no all-nighters at all!

Early Morning Through Mid-afternoon May 30, 2021

Nothing on in the morning but garbage programs on regular and cable TV networks., since they are really infomercials in disguise. And then, like most people who work, my energy level sometimes goes down mid-afternoon, at which time I always seem to need a strong cup of coffee. I sometimes get a second wind around 6 PM, though.

Gap in the timeline May 31, 2021

Mid morning to early afternoon. Once I've had my breakfast, dealt with all my email correspondence, done any necessary routine computer maintenance, and so on.

This part of the day appears not to exist in the daily programme of the poll setter.

Morning and evenings Jun 1, 2021

If I get up early and have slept well, I work well in the mornings. Afternoons are OK until about 5:00 p.m., when I tend to crash. I get a new wind later in the evening.

My work day runs 8.00 to 15:00/16:00 and on weekends a reduced version of the same. Heartily agree with Tom's comment on the weekend respite from mails.
