Source text - English E-mail marketing is a cheap means of mass marketing. Again e-mail marketing is a tool of direct marketing. It reportedly yields highest return on investment among all means of internet marketing. Therefore it is also popular among marketers.
In e-mail marketing bulk mail is sent to numerous users. Certain computer applications are used in sending mails in bulk. Since such software uses databases of contact information, campaign statistics and message history, the random use of such software often ends up in sending unsolicited e-mails.
Different nations have passes laws to prevent sending unsolicited e-mails for marketing purpose. United Kingdom is the first among them. In its legislation it directed marketers sending e-mails to customers based on a prior opt-in agreement with recipient of the mail. These laws apply to all organizations using any type of electronic communication for marketing. Later on United States also passed laws to restrict sending of unsolicited e-mails. This law imposes fine of USD 11,000.00 on per violation on sending unsolicited e-mail to each individual or on spamming each individual. Besides, this legislation needs commercial e-mail services to comply with conditions as follows:
Users’ authentication on their return address
Users to include a valid physical address,
Provision of a one-click unsubscribe feature, and
Prohibition of importing lists of purchased addresses that may not have given valid permission.
Abide by the legislations, the e-mail service providers have come up with solutions for their clientele. They provide users with e-mail templates and other best practices and methods for handling subscriptions and cancellation.
Some e-mail marketers use special software to comply with conditions imposed by national authority. Often they use a suppression list of addresses of users who has unsubscribed from the marketing services. Therefore in e-mail marketing campaigns the e-mail addresses on suppression list are not to be included while mailing in bulk because the opt-in e-mails use handshake protocol to send e-mails to recipients willing to accept promotional notifications. Handshake protocol is an automated process of negotiation between commercial service providers and its clientele. Ultimately this negotiation resulted in high degree of satisfaction between marketers and customers.
Translation - Bengali জন মার্কেটিং-এর একটা সস্তা উপায় হলো ই-মেল মার্কেটিং । তাছাড়া সরাসরি মার্কেটিং করার একটা উপায়ও হলো ই-মেল মার্কেটিং। শোনা যায়, যাবতীয় ইন্টারনেট মার্কেটিং ব্যবস্থার মধ্যে এটিই সবথেকে বেশি পরিমাণে লগ্নীর টাকা উসুল করে আনে। ফলে মার্কেটারদের মধ্যে এটাই মাধ্যম হিসেবে সব থেকে জনপ্রিয়।
ই-মেল মার্কেটিং-এ একসাথে গাদা গাদা ই-মেল পাঠানো হয় অসংখ্য ই-মেল ব্যবহারকারীকে। কোনো কোনো ক্ষেত্রে এইভাবে ই-মেল পাঠানোর জন্য নির্দিষ্ট কম্পিউটার অ্যাপ্লিকেশনের সাহায্য নেওয়া হয়। এই সব সফটওয়্যার যেহেতু যোগাযোগ সংক্রান্ত তথ্য, ক্যাম্পেনের পরিসংখ্যান এবং কী কী তথ্য দেওয়া নেওয়া হয়েছে তার বিবরণ ব্যবহার করে সেহেতু এই সব সফটওয়্যারের যথেচ্ছ ব্যবহারের পরিণতি হলো প্রচুর অযাচিত ই-মেল।
নানা দেশে মার্কেটিং-এর জন্য পাঠানো অযাচিত ই-মেল আটকাতে এখন আইন তৈরি হচ্ছে। এসব দেশের মধ্যে সবার আগে আছে ইউনাইটেড কিংডাম। এদেশের আইন চায় যে মার্কেটাররা ই-মেল পাঠাক তাদেরই যারা মার্কেটারের থেকে ই-মেল পেতে চায় বলে আগে থেকে মার্কেটারদের সাথে চুক্তিবদ্ধ। এই আইন বর্তায় সেই সব সংস্থার ওপর যারা কোনো না কোনো বৈদ্যুতিন সংযোগ মাধ্যমে মার্কেটিং করে। পরে ইউনাইটেড স্টেসও অযাচিত ই-মেল আটকানোর জন্য আইন তৈরি করেছে। এই আইন অযাচিত ই-মেল-পিছু ১১,০০০ ইউ এস ডলার জরিমানা ধার্য করেছে। এছাড়া এই আইন অনুযায়ী বাণিজ্যিক ই-মেল পরিষেবার ওপর কতকগুলি শর্ত আরোপ করেছে; এগুলো হলো এরকমঃ
• ফিরতি ঠিকানার প্রমাণ রাখতে হবে ব্যবহারকারীকে,
• ব্যবহারকারীকে একটা বৈধ বাস্তব ঠিকানা দিতে হবে,
• একটা মাত্র ক্লিকে মার্কেটিং ই-মেল গ্রহীতা যাতে মার্কেটারের ই-মেল মার্কেটিং-এর গ্রাহকতালিকা থেকে নিজেকে সরিয়ে নিতে পারেন তার ব্যবস্থা থাকতে হবে,
এবং
• মার্কেটারের কিনে রাখা ঠিকানার তালিকায় যে সব ঠিকানা ই-মেল পাঠানোর বৈধ অনুমতি দেয় নি, সেসব ঠিকানা অন্য কাউকে পাঠানো নিষেধ।
এই আইন মেনে ই-মেল পরিষেবা দেন যাঁরা তাঁরা তাঁদের খদ্দেরদের জন্য কিছু সমাধানের ব্যাবস্থা করেছেন। তার মধ্যে প্রধান হলো ই-মেলের ফর্মা যাতে অন্যান্য সেরা ব্যবস্থা ও সুবিধার সাথে গ্রাহকপদ করানো আর বাতিল করার উপায় থাকে।
কোনো কোনো ই-মেল মার্কেটার বিশেষ সফটওয়্যার ব্যবহার করেন জাতীয় কর্তৃপক্ষের দেওয়া শর্ত পালন করার জন্য। অধিকাংশ সময়েই তাঁরা একটা ফর্দ ব্যবহার করেন যাতে মার্কেটিং পরিষেবার গ্রাহকপদ ছেড়ে দেওয়া গ্রহীতাদের ই-মেল ঠিকানা থাকে। এই ফর্দের কোনো ঠিকানাই এক তাড়া ই-মেল পাঠানোর সময় মেল পেতে ইচ্ছুক গ্রহীতাদের ই-মেল ঠিকানার ফর্দের মধ্যে থাকা সমীচীন নয়। এই সমস্ত সফটওয়্যারে হ্যান্ডশেক প্রোটোকল ব্যবহার হয় মার্কেটিং ই-মেল পেতে ইচ্ছুক গ্রহীতাদের ই-মেল পাঠানোর জন্য। হ্যান্ডশেক প্রোটোকল আসলে বাণিজ্যিক পরিষেবাদাতা আর তাদের খদ্দেরদের মধ্যেকার একটা স্বয়ংক্রিয় বোঝাপোড়ার ব্যবস্থা। শেষ পর্যন্ত এই বোঝাপড়ার ব্যবস্থাই খদ্দের আর মার্কেটার দুপক্ষকেই দারুণ তৃপ্তি দিয়েছে।

তা এই হলেন এককথায় আমাদের আদিমশুমারির প্রথম দিকের জীবাশ্মমূলক ধড়। মাথা তো কবেই কাগজওয়ালা নিয়ে গেছে। কবজির পরে আর যেটুকু আস্তিন তাতেই মটরদানার মত মস্তিষ্ক সনাক্ত করার চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছিল আর তিনি ঝোপ বুঝে বললেন – “পরশপাথর।”
ওঃ! তারপর সে কী হিট! সম্বর্ধনার ফাঁকে সবাই আড়চোখে দেখছে ডিজ়নির কার্টুন নায়িকাদের স্তনসন্ধি কিন্তু দারুণ পেলব, প্রশংসার অছিলায় ছুঁয়ে দেখে পোস্টার কালার শুকিয়ে আর কোথাও বৃন্ত মনে হয় কি না। গাম্ভীর্য ঢাকতে তিনি নখের কোণ ভেঙে মুখে দেন।
