Translation - English Alcohol – drug addiction is a multidimensional and chronic problem and it is not only limited to alcohol abuse and addiction syndrome, it also effects the other dimensions of life and its effects change in time. The quality of life in alcohol addiction is examined and three related areas are determined. These areas are determined as the “clinical situation” in which the amount of the alcohol intake and the level of addiction are determinant, the “addiction specific problems” in which the point of view of the user are considered and finally the “general functions” which are related to the social relations, support of the environment (Longabaugh et. al. 1994).

Source text - English Cinsellik insan hayatının temel gereksinimlerinden olup yaşamın ayrılmaz bir parçasıdır. Sağlıklı bir cinsel yaşam, sağlığın ve yaşam kalitesinin önemli parametrelerinden birisidir [1,2]. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü’nün tanımına göre, cinsel sağlık kişilik, iletişim ve aşkı arttıran yollarla cinsel varoluşun bedensel, duygusal, entellektüel ve sosyal yönlerinin bütünleşmesidir. Kadın cinsel fonksiyon bozukluğu; biyolojik, psikolojik ve kişiler arası etkileşimleri olan çok nedenli ve çok boyutlu bir problemdir [4,5,6]. Herhangi bir nedenle cinsel sağlıkta meydana gelen bir sorun kadının cinsel yaşamını, evlilik ilişkisini ve yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkilemektedir. Yaşanan sorunlar, kadının kendine olan güvenini, kişilerarası ilişkilerini, emosyonel, entellektüel ve sosyokültürel yönlerini de olumsuz etkilemektedir [3].
Kadın cinsel fonksiyon bozukluğu dünyanın çeşitli bölgelerinde farklılık göstermektedir. Kadınlarda cinsel prevalansı ile ilgili yapılan en geniş çalışmalardan biri olan Amerikan Ulusal Sağlık ve Sosyal Yaşam Araştırması (1992) verilerinin derlendiği çalışmada yaşları 18- 59 arasında değişen 1749 kadından elde edilen veriler toplanmış ve kadınlarda cinsel sorun görülme oranı %43 olarak saptanmıştır [7]. DeRogatis ve Burnett (2008) tarafından, cinsel fonksiyon bozukluğu epidemiyolojini saptamak amacıyla yapılan derlemede de, farklı ülkelerdeki oranlar; İngiltere'de %33, İzlanda'da %22, Mısır'da %68,9 olarak belirtilmiştir [7].
Translation - Turkish The sexuality is one of the essential necessities of human life and also an inseparable part of the life. A healthy sexual life is one of the significant parameters of health and quality of life [1,2]. According to the definition provided by World Health Organization, the sexual health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality. It requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. Women sexual dysfunction is a multi- causal and multidimensional problem which has biological, psychological and interpersonal interactions [4,5,6]. A problem which occur in sexual life for whatever reason effects negatively the sexual life, marital relationship and quality of life of a woman. These problems also affect negatively the confidence, interpersonal relationships, and emotional, intellectual and socio-cultural aspects of the woman [3].
The woman sexual dysfunction shows differences in various regions of the world. In the study in which data from American National Health and Social Life Survey (1992) which is one of the large scaled studies realized about the sexual prevalence of women, are compiled, data obtained from 1749 women whose ages are between 18-59 have been collected and the frequency of sexual dysfunction in women has been determined as 43% [7]. In the compilation realized by DeRogatis and Burnett (2008) in order to determine the sexual dysfunction epidemiology, the rates in different countries have been determined as, 33% for United Kingdom, 22% for Iceland and 68,9% for Egypt [7].
