PROFILE:
I bring more than twenty years of international political and administrative experience as a career diplomat in the Foreign Service of Pakistan, with tours in the Middle East and Asia as well as residence in the United States. Moreover, during the last over thirteen years, I have gained valuable experience as an Urdu and Punjabi linguist. My career and commitment has enabled me to combine excellent interpersonal, communications and customer service skills with challenging responsibilities. I have learned to adopt a disciplined approach to the task at hand and developed the innate ability to anticipate potential obstacles, with a view to attaining specific targets.

4. My Interpreting assignments of Urdu and West Punjabi have been primarily in the medical, legal and educational fields.
5. As s Subject Matter Expert of West Punjabi at National Foreign Language Center, University of Maryland, I developed various learning activities around a given Reading and/or Listening text.
6. During my tours of duty at the Embassies of Pakistan at Malaysia (1984-89) and Lebanon (1992-95), one of my important responsibilities was to look after the interests of Pakistani expatriate community as well as Pakistani visitors in these countries. I frequently used to act as an Interpreter of Urdu/Punjabi/, between some Pakistanis and the law enforcement authorities of the host country.
7. Ambassadors wrote their speeches in English, which were meant for Pakistani audience, e.g., on the occasion of Pakistan National Day, Pakistan Independence Day, Eid-ul-Azha (Muslim religious holiday); My job was to translate them into Punjabi and/or Urdu. Moreover, some of the senior officers at the Embassy were not conversant with Punjabi language. I interpreted for them in their official dealings with Punjabi speaking members of overseas Pakistanis.
