Source text - Chinese 病毒是这样子，你不会杀它，它不会变异。你杀它，它下一代就改变，道高一尺魔高一丈，它下一代就改变。所以你现在研究出来疫苗可以看现在，但是它下次出来又不一样。你又要再去研究一个新疫苗，永远赶不上它变异的速度。这是因为你去刺激它，它才改变的；如果你不去刺激它，如果没有疫苗、抗生素刺激这些病毒的话，现在的病毒跟2000千年前是一样的。但是妙就妙在哪里呢？我们的“大清龙汤”居然还能适用，因为我们从头到尾就没有一个观念：要赶尽杀绝这个病毒。我们只有一个观念：如何把病毒排出体外而不伤人正气，所以人的健康伤不到。在无伤害的状态下同时把病毒请出体外，这就是大清龙汤的防疫。（疫苗和中医的）策略不一样：一个是消灭它，一个是请它出去。就像有敌人或者不友善的人进入你的家里，进来还没两三句话就开枪打死，好像是太过度的防御；你好言相劝他出去就没事了，连警察不用就出去了，还讲对不起我走错地方了，就不会冤冤相报。你把他杀了，可能下一代他儿子要来报仇，你儿子找他报仇，冤冤相报，这是不对的想法。
Translation - English The virus is like this. If you do not kill it, it will not mutate. If you kill it, its next generation will change. If the Dao is one foot tall, the devil will be ten feet higher, i.e., its next generation will grow [and will not stop]. So, the vaccine you have developed now works for the current virus, but when next time, [the next generation of] the virus shows up, it comes out different. You have to do [another] research for a new vaccine again, and you will never be able to keep up with the speed of its mutation. This is because if you stimulate it, it changes; [and yet] if you had not stimulated it, if there had been no vaccine or antibiotics to stimulate these viruses, the virus now would have been the same as it was over 2,000 thousand years ago. So, what makes it [the Big Azure Dragon Decoction] so wonderful? Our [Big Azure Dragon Decoction] is still effective, because from the beginning to the end, we [Chinese physicians] never had this idea of ‘killing and eradicating [all viruses]’. We [physicians] have only one concept: how to excrete the virus from the body without hurting the hosting qi (upright qi) of people. [And in that case,] people’s health will not be harmed. [Being able] to kindly invite the virus out of the body, without at the same time harming [both the virus and the person’s body], this is the epidemic prevention of the Big Azure Dragon Decoction. The strategies [of vaccines, anti-biotics, and Chinese medicine] are different: one is to kill and eradicate it [the disease], and the other is to invite it [the disease] out. It is like when a hostile or unfriendly looking person enters your house, and yet without even having a brief two or three sentences of conversations, you shoot him to death. It seems like too much defense. [But, meanwhile,] if you persuade him [this unfriendly looking person] to go out [and leave the house], [both of you] will be fine. The police will not even need to show up. [And this person will also likely say,] ‘Sorry, I went to the wrong place.’ [And therefore] neither of you will need to repay for the wrongdoing, and there will be no revenge taken on either side. If, however, you kill this person [who shows up at your house], perhaps his next generation – his son – will come to avenge [your murder of his father], and your son, in turn, will also seek revenge from him [the son of the person you killed]. In this way, the revenge never ends. And this is wrong.

Source text - Chinese 其法以五月五日聚百種蟲，大者至蛇小者至蝨，合置器中，令自相啖，餘一種存者留之，蛇則曰蛇蠱，蝨則曰蝨蠱，行以殺人。因食入人腹內，食其五藏，死則其產移入蠱主之家。三年不殺他人，則畜者自鍾其弊。
Translation - English The method is to gather one hundred types of bugs on the fifth day of the fifth month, from the bigger sized ones like snakes to the smaller ones like lice, and place them together in a closed container and let them eat each other. As for the one that survives till the end, keep it. If the survivor is a snake, name it “snake gu,” if lice, “lice gu,” and use it to kill people. As for any person who takes in food that contains gu, the gu will start to eat off of the five viscera, and after this person dies, his properties will be shifted to the gu master’s house. If, however, after gu is manufactured, and no other person is killed within the next three years, the gu breeder will die of his own cause.
