Hungarian to English: Multicultural society, globalization tendencies
Source text - Hungarian Multikulturális társadalom, globalizációs tendenciák
A fejlett világ számára a 21. század a multikulturális társadalmak időszaka. A különböző kultúrák, nyelvek, szokások, tradíciók és vallások egymás mellett élése, keveredése tulajdonképpen már évszázadokkal ezelőtt is ismert jelenség volt, azonban a multikulturális társadalmak kialakulása a második világháború után vált világméretekben egyre erősödő folyamattá. Mindezek hátterében ott találjuk a gyarmatbirodalmak felbomlását, Európa második világháború utáni politikai megosztottságát, a fejlett nyugati országok és a kevésbé fejlett keleti régiók társadalmi, gazdasági, politikai berendezkedésében fennálló ellentéteket, a
megélhetési nehézségek, illetve a politikai üldözés elől menekülő ambiciózus fiatalokat, akik tömegesen indították el a fejlettebb országokba irányuló migrációs folyamatokat. A bevándorlási tendenciákat leginkább olyan fiatalok kezdeményezték, akik saját hazájukban is nehéz helyzetben voltak, anyagi gondokkal küzdöttek, így a fogadó országban is hátrányos helyzetbe kerültek, nem ismerték a nyelvet, egy új, ismeretlen ország kulturális szokásait kellett megtanulniuk, miközben a munkaerőpiacon is hátrányba kerültek a hazai munkavállalókkal szemben. A 20. század második felében felerősödött migrációs folyamat napjainkra korántsem fejeződött be, hiszen a különböző háborús konfliktusok, például Jugoszlávia felbomlása, a balkáni ellentétek, az észak-írországi összetűzések sora, illetve az
európai integrációs folyamat újra és újra aktuálissá teszi a kérdést.
Translation - English Multicultural society, globalization tendencies
The 21st century for the well developed world means the period of multicultural societies. The various cultures, languages, customs, traditions and religions living beside each other, and their mixture was actually a well-known phenomenon even a few centuries ago, but the worldwide forming of multicultural societies has become a growing process after the 2nd world war. Behind all these we may find the colony realms’ disintegration; Europe’s political distribution after the 2nd world war; the differences in the social, economical, political structure of the developed Western countries and the less developed Eastern countries; the ambitious youth escaping from the subsistence difficulties and the political pursuit, the youth who has started in large numbers the migrations into more developed countries. The immigration tendencies were initialized mostly by the those young people who were badly off, who were struggling with financial problems, so they have also got at a disadvantage in the housing country, they haven’t known the language, they needed to learn the cultural habits of a new unknown country while they have become at a disadvantage in the labour market also opposing to the home employees. The migration process that has strengthened in the second half of the 20th century hasn’t stopped until today at all; the different conflicts of war, for example the disintegration of Yugoslavia, the Balkanic differences, the Northern Ireland conflict series, and the European integrational process, make the question timely again and again.
