Can NAATI FULL MEMBER and NZSTI FULL MEMBER be automatically converted into Member of American Translation Association and work independently over there?

In short, no. Jul 27, 2024

Different associations, like ATA, ITI (UK) and NAATI have their own credentialing or certification procedures and costs. Go visit www.atanet.org and ask them.

I don't think translators associations keep tabs on what's said on Proz.com. Nothing you post here will be read by ATA administrators. I don't work for the ATA or for any other association. My comments are my own.

Has no bearing on your right to work in the US. Jul 29, 2024

See above comments. The US has extremely strict green card requirements. It is insanely difficult to get one.

I just want to know whether or not NAATI or NZSTI member is able to work in USA as qualified transla Jul 29, 2024

I just want to know whether or not NAATI or NZSTI member is able to work in USA as qualified translator automatically without further studies or examination.

I know my comments would not be read by American Translation Association。 I just want to know from the people who know the information or who has the similar experience.

I have sent them email and they did not reply.

Thanks

You do not have to be physically in US to accept US translation job Jul 29, 2024

You could do certified translation for jobs to be submitted to US Court or Immigration while overseas while having ATA qualification.

My question is whether or not NAATI and NZSTI could be automatically converted into ATA Professional Translator Qualification without further examination or studies.

Thanks
