Las acciones de RBS cotizan con un descuento. Con relación a otros bancos centrados en Gran Bretaña, es del 8%. Es cierto que el descuento ha estado en ese nivel desde la adquisición del NatWest.
Is there a specific way of saying this? or is it just "are traded at/with a discount". I have found references to some kind of a "lag", but I don't know if that is the same thing.
Unfortunately, the piece goes on to say "Algunos inversores incluso han empezado a llamarlo descuento Goodwin". I have found out that this particular man is called Fred "The Shred", but I think this is due more to his practice of laying off large numbers of employees whenever his bank buys another company. I haven't seen him called "Discount Fred" anywhere.
thanks for your help, MJ

As for the "Goodwin discount", what effect do Fred "The Shred's" actions (masive layoffs) tend to have on P/E of shares of companies bought by his bank? That may be the origin of the nickname.

Another possibility: "listed at a discount"
quota firm prices
Money and Currencies: cotizarse oficialmente be listed (to)
Banking:cotizar quote (to)
Bolsa
Stock Markets: cotizar list (to)
cotizar en bolsa go public (to)
There is a big difference between listing and trading. If a stock is listed (or quoted), I can decide whether to buy or sell it (trade it), but I don't have to. I can also just look at the listed or quoted price and think about trading it.
