Spanish term

coche-cama

Spanish to English Other Tourism & Travel Camp Site
Hi, I would appreciate your help.

There isn't any context for this as it is a list of services given by a camp site. It has nothing to do with a train and It is not a caravan as it is included in the list already.

Thanks :)
Proposed translations (English)
3 +4 car-bed
4 caravette
4 sleeper coach
3 sleeping bus

Thanks Deborah, that's great :)
Deborah Workman Jan 25, 2010:
Here's a multilingual price list from a campsite http://www.campinglospinos.com/precios.php

Maybe it will help!
Leonardo Lamarche Jan 24, 2010:
Robert, I don't think is a camper-van, because it consists of more things than beds (kithchen, baths,) and besides you indicated that a caravan is also included.
Robert Mavros (asker) Jan 24, 2010:
Thanks for your help and interest David :)
David Brown Jan 24, 2010:

Here is a reference for you-it's a Es.En dictionary of holidays

Robert Mavros (asker) Jan 24, 2010:
thanks Leonardo
Leonardo Lamarche Jan 24, 2010:
Robert, I gather is not a train, but I found a term: "Couchette-car" for trains but the characteristics is they are not private. It is possible that the term comes from that "car-beds" (plural for beds). See the ref.

Robert Mavros (asker) Jan 24, 2010:
I doubt it Taña.

Hilda, yep I will do just in casse. i am thinking maybe Campervan, which is different from a caravan which you atttach to a car.

What is your opinion?
Hinara Jan 24, 2010:
Hi Robert, to ensure an accurate translation, I would consult with client if at all possible.

I searched in (elzr.com) for photos with the word "coche-cama" and ended up with a variety of possibilities: http://elzr.com/imagery?query=caravan&size=20&safe=&imgsz=&i...

I'm curious to know what your client says. Best, Hilda
Taña Dalglish Jan 24, 2010:
Got it! So, David's proposal car-bed could work?
Robert Mavros (asker) Jan 24, 2010:
Actually, sleeping cars shouldn't be there
Robert Mavros (asker) Jan 24, 2010:
ADULT
CHILD (UP TO 10 YEARS OF AGE)
SHOP
CAR
CARAVAN
MOTORBIKE
SLEEPING CARS
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (10A)
DOGS
VISITS

It's a bit of a general list without many things in common. Hope it helps.

Thanks Taña.
Taña Dalglish Jan 24, 2010:
@ Robert So what do you have on the list then? You say it is not a sleeper (sleeper-car) or a trailer/caravan .... but something on a camp site. Un abrazo.

agree Rick Larg : I'd go for campervan too. However this link offers motorhomes as an alterrnative:-http://www.coolcampervans.com/ If for USA: try RV (recreational vehicle).

thanks Robert, then it seems the translation will be mainly for customers from the U.K. and those from other European or Mediterranean countries who although natives of other languages, understand English. In the case of British people, in order to take a caravette to Spain on holiday they would either take the Channel Tunnel, or cross by ferry to France, then drive to Spain, or take the ferry from the South of England to Santander or Bilbao. For families it can be a cheap option given that there are often no discounts on airfares for children.
Note from asker:
thanks :) It is in Spain.
