Architecture of Churches, convents, and hospices
My question is , which is better, conven architecture or conventual architecture? The topic not only covers convents but churches, and hospices. The period covered is the 17th century. My target readers are Philippine historians.

but it is fairly unusual nowadays. In most cases it is either a calque of the Spanish expression "arquitectura conventual", or it refers specifically to the architecture of convents rather than monasteries:

Be careful in using the term "convent" in English: it refers specifically to a place for nuns, women, whereas in Spanish, "convento" can apply either to nuns or monks (women or men). So "convento" should sometimes be translated as "monastery" and not as "convent".
