Seismic design of power plants and associated civil works
The document specifies seismic design reqirements for power plants and associated civil works in Chile.
The full sentence is:
"El espesor tb de la placa de fondo debajo del manto no será mayor que el espesor de ****las planchas de la corrida inferior de la envoltura cilíndrica****, pero en ningún caso inferior a 6 mm."
I'd be very grateful for any help with this, please. My draft translation is:
"The thickness tb of the bottom plate beneath the shell will not be greater than the thickness of ****the plates of the under-run of the cylindrical casing****, but in no case less than 6 mm.
Is "of the plates of the under-run of the cylindrical casing" correct.
If not, what might it mean?
Thank you in advance.
Rob

bottom plate(s) under the shell
It looks this comes directly from API Standard 650, Section 5.11 re "required corroded thickness of the bottom plate under the shell mm"
