Spanish term
incidir (in context)
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)

Dear colleagues,
I understand "incidencia" as impact, but "incide en el precio final" sounds more to me like "is reflected on". Am I right?
Thanks in advance!

accounts for
I think the idea is that, though the design cost is only 5% of the production cost, it accounts for 70% of the final price.

represents
I quite like "accounts for," as already suggested above, but offer this as an option.

(have an) impact (on)
I really dislike the use of impact as a verb, but used correctly in a noun phrase like this, it can function as a synonym for "influence/affect".

So, the meaning here is really "influence/affect"...
"although the impact on the final price is a mere 30%".

NB: I'd probably use Robert's suggestion the second time "incidir" crops up in the passage, and maybe Nedra's "represents" too, in order to avoid repeating the same term ad nauseam.
