Jagdparcours

German to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Shooting disciplines
"Nachdem ich...2016 und 2017 Weltmeisterin und Vizeweltmeisterin in der Disziplin Jagdparcours geworden bin, war es an der Zeit, auch jagdlich keine Kompromisse mehr einzugehen."

"Jagdparcours" is clearly a shooting discipline, but I'm not sure which one. Also, does "Vizeweltmeisterin" mean World Champion runner-up?

Change log

Jan 18, 2018 03:38: Kim Metzger changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Jan 23, 2018 04:21: Sven Petersson Created KOG entry

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): JohnMcDove, Johanna Timm, PhD, Kim Metzger

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Wendy Streitparth Jan 18, 2018:
As to the second part of your question, I would say: World Champion in 2016 and runner-up in 2017. You don't need to repeat Weltmeisterin.
Eric Zink Jan 18, 2018:
various disciplines Here is a list of 2016 FITASC disciplines. https://www.fitasc.com/uk/home/view/setcalendaryear/2016
Laura Beach (X) (asker) Jan 18, 2018:
The speaker was Rebecka Bergkvist. Perhaps the discipline should be translated is FITASC or target shooting?
Eric Zink Jan 18, 2018:
speaker? If we know who is saying this, the only thing that remains is to find out what titles that person held in 2016 and 2017.
Kim Metzger Jan 18, 2018:
Is the speaker a German national?
