Había visto "en pleno uso de sus facultades mentales", pero nunca "en uso de la voz".
No he encontrado nada que me indique cómo traducirla (que no sea literalmente).
Agradeceré sus sugerencias.

¿Qué viene antes y después? Sin contexto es difícil dar una opinión que realmente sirva, ya que el contexto dicta la clase de solución que mejor se adapte.

Tampoco lo había visto así... "normalemente", es: "El de la voz", es decir, quien habla, el declarante. Pero se entiende de la misma manera.
