Series de números normales

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) Metrology
I'd be really grateful for any suggestions on how to translate 'series de números normales'. I think it might be 'standard number series', but I'm not entirely sure. Thanks!

Response to Asker

Engineering uses quantitative techniques derived from maths and statistics. You are missing the probabilistic concept of normality, used across sciences and techniques.
Sandra Meneaud (asker) Mar 13:
I'm also considering 'preferred series number', which seems to make sense in this context of standardising measurements.

What is preferred series number?
In industrial design, preferred numbers (also called preferred values or preferred series) are standard guidelines for choosing exact product dimensions within a given set of constraints.

standard number series

As is often the case with PowerPoints, we can only guess as to the meaning. But this seems an obvious way to translate it.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Francois Boye : A series is a maths concept, Powerpoint does not define the concept of normality in probability and statistics

series of normal numbers

Normal numbers mean numbers with a gaussian distribution (graphical representation).

The normal distribution is the proper term for a probability bell curve.
In a normal distribution the mean is zero and the standard deviation is 1. It has zero skew and a kurtosis of 3.

Normal distributions are symmetrical, but not all symmetrical distributions are normal.

Many naturally-occurring phenomena tend to approximate the normal distribution.

gaussian distribution = normal distribution

Gaussian derives from Carl Friedrich Gauss, the German mathematician who identified the mathematics of normal distributions.
Note from asker:
Thanks for your suggestion Francois. I think in this specific context about standards, 'standard or preferred number series' is probably correct.
