1. Remove the dust cover from the receiver-nipple.
2. Wipe away any collected dust from the front sealing face.
3. Visually check the receiver-nipple for excessive wear or scoring, especially the front sealing face. If the receiver-nipple is leaking or damaged, replace it.
4. Using the fingers of the hand holding the nozzle handle, fully retract the spring- loaded black polymer actuating ring. This allows radial movement of the fingers of the elasto-dog coupling mechanism.
5. Pull the dust plug from the front end of the nozzle.
6. Verify that the elasto-dog fingers are not broken off and are in serviceable condition.
7. Release the actuating ring.
8. Align the front end of the nozzle with the receiver-nipple.
9. Push it partially onto the nipple.
