these two lines have no direct connection - there don't make a pair of opposites.

When it comes to consumer products offering a "basic" version means: we'll offer you "the simplest version we can get away with, no frills, no bells"

Totally different meaning from "the basic principles" (... fondamentaux, essentiels) underpinning a law or an international treaty.

Opposition à spécific? Si je comprends bien il s'agit de traduire "basic benefits" pour le distinguer de "specific benefits"?
On pourrait alors suggérer avantages généraux par opposition à avantages particuliers ou spécifiques
