In summary, we were guaranteed that they would state in writing their commitment to the project and what their role would be. The letter was to be addressed to you. Instead we received a request that we ask the Government of Senegal to delay the project until after the Salini Impregilo merger is cleared.

We find this totally unacceptable. We intend to tell Salini that we are still interested in working with them as we know that they can be a back-up five months from now. However, we will find a new EPC contractor. In hindsight, we should have engaged in discussions with other contractors in parallel with our discussions with Salini. We did not do this because of Salini’s assurances.
