To help buyers and sellers find each other so they can explore the potential for entering intolong-term, often contractual, commercial relationships.Matching Services are typically used by small companies, new exporting and importing companies,and established exporters who wish to deal with new products or new markets.In general, the best kind of Matching Service individually tailors a search for appropriate trade contactsfor each client. One example of this is the Agent/Distributor Service of the United States Departmentof Commerce, which identifies and screens potential foreign marketing partners for specific U.S.exporters. A larger number of Matching Services, however, are public bulletin boards on whichanyone can post an offer to buy or sell.
