pareces querer decir que castas, honor de casta/caste honor son cosas que sólo se dan en la India. Yo entiendo que su uso en el texto original es una extrapolación o metáfora simbólica que se adapta a otros contextos. Yo, personalmente no estoy feliz con la existencia de castas en ningún país ni contexto, pero está en el texto de origen.... ¿qué hacemos al traducir, negar o borrar la palabra casta/caste? que no nos guste que haya castas no debería influir: si el texto dijera que se defendían o justificaban los duelos por cuestiones de privilegio, respeto o posición social, o por prejuicios o conceptos clasistas o racistas, yo tendría los mismos reparos morales ante la cosa... pero al traducir hay que decir lo que dice el texto original.
