For example, an injury claim that is presented to an Administrative Law Judge, not in civil or criminal court. Special proceddings are usually hearings in Administrative Courts.

For example, in Massachusettts (USA), there is an Industrial Accident Admnistrative Hearings Court. They only process claims related to workers compensation.
