Cheque book loyalty.
Hi Parrot,
Just a suggestion. Here in the UK, we often witness examples of 'cheque book journalism' in our newspapers. This means that the tabloids, for example, can entice individuals to dish the dirt on politicians, actors et al for large sums of money. The option I offer is slight twisting of this, but it may not be catchy enough!!
Suerte.

: That's a different kind of "checkbook loyalty", with money flowing to, not from, the top

Buying loyalty with "checks" and "balances"
Checks and balances are supposed to be the forces with which the different branches of government keep each other under control. The twist here is that bank checks and bank balances can be used to keep journalists under control.
Alternatively:
Loyal journalists kept in check(s)

That last one actually combines several meanings. The journalists are kept in check (under control), they are kept in checks (the money keeps flowing), and they are \"kept\" (in the sense of a mistress as a kept woman).
