Your outstanding cover letter Jul 11, 2021

A solid cover letter answers two key questions:

1. Why are you the right fit for the job?

2. How will you add value to the client's organization?

On average, it takes the recipient 5-7 seconds to skim your cover letter.

A couple of tips just off the top of my head:

• Always try to address your letter to a specific person (including name, title, company, and address).

• Clearly state the purpose of your letter — why you're writing and the position sought.

• Emphasize skills that relate to the job.

• Avoid overusing "I" statements. Focus on what the client can gain from you.

• Close your letter by reiterating your interest in working for the client. Thank the reader for their time and consideration. State you look forward to a chance to prove your worth.

Phone first Jul 12, 2021

Hi Victor
Imo it's much more effective to phone the people you want to work with explaining why and what you have to offer, then if it might work out they will ask you to send a mail with a CV to their mail address and give it due attention when it arrives a few minutes later.
Unsolicited mail will probably be ignored or get an automatic copy/paste reply.
