Hi,
I live in BC, Canada. Because I'm a dentist with years of translating experience (EngFarsi), I feel I have a good chance if there is chance to work for a translation agency here, especially in the medical field. But I'm not sure how I can reach out to make connections with the translation agencies in BC or Canada. Does anyone know some local or national resource to reach such agencies?

You could work with agencies all over the world. It doesn't have to be in BC. Just make sure your Proz profile is 100% complete and that you emphasise your specialisation (dentistry and related fields) that sets you apart from all the other translators. Work will come, although it may take time.

Thanks for the response and suggestion! But I need it to be in BC, or at least Canada. I already have some translation jobs from non-Canadian agencies, but as I'm on a work permit here, I need to work for BC agencies, so can get a permanent residentship.

You can get a list of Canadian translation clients/employers/agencies by visiting the Blue Board:
https://www.proz.com/blueboard
and typing "canada" in the search box near the top. There are about 730 of them in Canada.
If you're not a paying member of ProZ.com, you won't be able to see their addresses, but you can search for them on Google using their name, or sometimes there is a "profile" associated with them, and you can often contact them via the profile even if you're not registered at ProZ.com.
Please note that "working for an agency" usually does not involve an employment contract (although theoretically it can). Typically, translators who do work for agencies are self-employed.
