Hi ther everyone. I wonder if you can help me to find a way of counting the words for a translation done in Freehand. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I would export the file to any format that could be read by an OCR program (tiff, jpeg etc) and then use the OCR (e.g. FineReader or any other available) to read the text and import it to Word.

Export the TM

I suppose the translation could be done using T-Windows for Clipboard. When the translation will be finished, you can export the TM and count the words in the text file. You will have to take into account the number of repetitions given by the usage counter field.
You will also have to consider the additional effort using T-Windows for Clipboard compared to a contiguous text processed in Word or TagEditor. It might be compensated by the increased word count caused by the tags which ... See more

An alternative would be to delete those tags before counting and adding a T-Windows percentage to your rate.

Make sure you don't have any bitmaps in the Freehand file, print the FH file into a PDF file and do a word count on the PDF. Done.
