"of what appears a court document": well it is a life insurance proposal of Zurich Life Insurance in Vienna, with the name and the address of the client! Has this Austrian person given them the document to be translated for peanuts? Zurich Insurance certainly has no need to outsource the translation ionto English of individual proposals And I got another mail today from (astutely named) [email protected]. Hi, I have a small job for you, if you would be willing to take it. GERMAN ENGLISH In attachment you have the original (German) and the translation delivered in English. The customer is a colleague with whom I have been working for over 15 years on a daily basis. He had given this to one of his English native speakers, but his end client had reservations, and I think they were justified (some of them at least) . If you scroll down, you will see some of the remarks the client made Would you be prepared to take on this proofreading job? Please advise your rate? Thanks Sean Now, the translation is almost perfect (no client remarks seen on the document), so why not quickly accept and be done with it? But wait a minute: the document clearly identifies www.nielsen.com/de as the owner of the text. Would Nielsen Germany ask a translator with no website and with this unprofessional mail address to outsource the job? Again, this is someone maybe language met? - fishing for mail addresses and CVs. Be very suspicious when you get such mails. ▲ Collapse | | | Natalia Zubkova Russian Federation Local time: 03:48 English to Russian + ... I received this today | Dec 1, 2013 |

See more I received this one yesterday and I nearly think it was real until I copy and paste her email in Internet: Hello, One of our client had a text translated by a sworn translation here in Luxembourg (see the attached text containing the French and the Russian- it is 850 words in French). This translator was not Russian but French talking and my client (who seems very strict – she is a lawyer) said that this initial translation was not correct and asked us to proofread it in order to get a perfect contract). She showed some examples in the pdf document. (do not take into account the remark for the extract RU->FR as she shall do it herself) My main question: would you be able to proofread it in the Word document attached in order to take into account her suggestions but also to make it more professional based on the French one ? Or do you feel it is not possible. (do you agree that it is not a good translation ?) ▲ Collapse | | | umininn Local time: 08:48 English to Chinese + ... To Chinese translators too | Dec 25, 2013 |

I just got an e-mail from [email protected], inquiring if I was available for a rather large project. The first thing I did (since the e-mail was poorly written) was doing a Google search on the company name, and look where I ended up. Words of advice: never trust an outsourcer with bad grammar.
