I have recently uninstalled version 3.6 and installed the current version as FF crashed continuously. Probably I had also too much extensions, so now I installed only a few of them and it works fine so far.

I had backed up my profile, of course, and meant to copy the most important stuff (bookmarks and so on) into my new profile. This didn't work and I managed finally only thanks to Xmarks, synchronizing my chronicle and bookmarks, so this is ok anyway.

What worries me most is that FF does not save any more my passwords. The corresponding old files (sign-on and another one that I don't remember) are in the new profile, I'm asked regularly for my masterpassword and each time whether I want to save a password, but it does not. I have managed fortunately to read and print out my old passwords, so each time I have to search them on paper, which is not very comfortable...

Has anyone encountered a similar problem and/or can advise how to solve it? What I find strange is that Firefox obviously does not recognize anything of the old profile. Is there anything I missed?

Thank you very much!
