Spanish term

auscultación de firmes

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Consulting
I'm working on a translation for a firm that provides consulting services in a variety of fields and the text provides a brief description of each.

I've come across "firmes" and "auscultación de firmes". I've come up with "road surface surveying" or "roadway surface surveying", but with "aeropuertos" in the content, it throws me off.
Here is what is in the source:

Ausculation de firmes.
Auscultación estructural y estructural de carreteras y aeropuertos.
Sistemas de gestión de firmes

I'd appreciate your help.

"auscultation of pavements"

"pavement auscultation"

Example of concrete auscultation:

I would go for the "pavement auscultation" but have added the other options to choose according to more or slightly diferent context.

Note from asker:
Anna, thanks for your help. I checked out linguee too, but I can't rely on posts there because I've seen a lot of mistranslations. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that the translation is for US English, so "auscultation" won't work in this case, but I'll just substitute that for "survey" and use "pavement surveys". Thanks again.

pavement condition surveys

I would usually say "road surface condition surveys", but I get your point. I think "pavement" will work here. Pavement, in this case, is the name given to the layers forming the surface of the road/taxiway, etc., i.e. sub-base, base course, wearing course/topping.
Note from asker:
Nikki, thanks for your help and affirmation. I think pavement surveys will work.
